Compressor stations are the heart of gas transmission systems. Iran with 75 compressor stations, right now, has the 4th gas transmission system worldwide. The main gas compressor stations on the IGATs are based on 3+1 (operation+ standby) gas turbine driven compressors. Since some partsof the pipeline gas is burnt by the gas turbines, in this paper we present an energy integrated design of gas compressor stations with lower fuel consumption and emission based on the concept of combined cycle. To do so, one gas turbine is replaced by a steam turbine while the steam is recovered from theflue gas of the two in operation gas turbines. Results show, using such a concept, about 30% of fuel gas is prevented to be burnt while the operation of station is kept as classic design in all operating points. As dynamic behaviour point of view also, using even slower and cheaper anti-surge valve and without hot gas bypass, steam turbine driven compressor safely passes all dynamic events even the emergency shutdown
